DAIRY AND INFLAMMATION

Around 65 percent of the world is lactose intolerant and in some populations it goes up to 90 percent.

Dairy is one of the most inflammatory foods after gluten. It causes mucus, bloating, wind, constipation, diarrhea and it promotes acne and other behavourial issues.

The reason dairy is not helpful to the human body, is that the body likes to maintain a neutral pH balance.  Dairy is a very acidic forming food so when you eat dairy, to overcompensate for the acid, the body draws on the calcium, magnesium and potassium stores in the body's bones.  When the body pulls from these, it leaves the body weaker and more susceptible to fractures and breaks.

Some of the best ways of obtaining your calcium is beans, broccoli, kale, and collard greens. So contrary to popular belief, bone structure does not come from consuming dairy products but from plant foods.

Do you need to eliminate dairy from your diet? To understand alternatives and how to incorporate these into your diet and reduce your inflammation today, contact me, I would love to help you.
